dil ke armaan aansuon mein bah gaye........
one more feather in indo pak unity..........
The national calamity, India bowing out of the tournament meekly - has brought out the streak of black humour in a billion people sold on World Cup dreams.
If nothing, the World Cup defeat has sharpened the wit of diehard cricket fans in India. Some are tired of pampering their icons with lavish affection and want them to try something more mundane.
This sudden outbreak of black humour is not all that innocent.
One joke bristling with pent up violence: "Someone has kidnapped the Indian cricket team and demanded a ransom of Rs.50 million. Or they will burn them with kerosene. Please contribute generously. I have already contributed 15 litre!"
It was Indira Gandhi who plotted the exit of India from the World Cup. How? By creating Bangladesh!
What is Sehwag's favourite movie? Gone in Sixty Seconds!
Why is Greg Chappell not opening his room? He does not want to become a whodunit thriller like Bob Woolmer!
As very well quoted:
Talent never wins, but it is the attitude, dedication and persistance which makes a champion team.
There I go putting the dual citizenship to its best use
by cheering Black Caps now
GO BLACK CAPS, GO BLACK CAPS

Wanna Share this too..........
It was Magnifico!!!!
ITALY DID IT!!!!!!!!!
It was an intense match and watching the game was too much tension to bear!
Italy are world champions for the fourth time after beating ten-man France 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in Berlin's Olympiastadion on Sunday, 9 July 2006.
Italy are deserved world champions after this narrowest of triumphs over France. In doing so, they buried the ghosts of USA 94 and climbed above Germany as the most successful European team in FIFA World Cup history with four wins.
For France and Zidane there was no fairy-tale ending and instead they are left to reflect on a bitter ending to an unexpectedly long adventure.
Moments from the Grand Finale!!

Football Fever or Football Chill
Who's not thinking Football????
The coldest week in the history of New Zealand didn't stopped us from getting up early in the morning to get fresh and sit in front of TV by 6:30 am. (rest of the time I say, believe and maintain that I am not a morning person)
But when you are doing what you want to do, you do it anyway……….
Football relay timings for us in New Zealand are 6:30 to 9am, its still viewable
I have been following Football from last 2 world cups…...
The first time I got into Football mania was in 1998 - won by France defeating Brazil, (only watched Final)
My second World Cup in 2002 - won by Brazil defeating Germany (kept tabs on semis and watched Final)
This time 2006 (knee deep into it, kept tabs from start, started watching from Quarter Finals)
Lets see what happens this time, Are we cheering for Germany????????
If (my) history is gonna repeat itself, Germany it is………..
Sshhh…………..
Lets WAIT and WATCH
The teams making into quarter finals as of today are:
Germany
Argentina
Italy
Ukarine
England
Portugal
Still waiting on two more to join the lot.
This morning Italy defeated Australia 1:0, was a neat game………
Lets keep our fingers on the pulse - who's in and who's not ;-%

Indian girl making us proud...
Courtesy: Deccan Chronicle
For Sania Mirza, it was in preparation for the struggle that she would eventually have to face in the form of Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova, formidable names on the tennis circuit.
Young, talented and blessed with oodles of energy that saw her become the first Indian woman to reach the third round of a Grand Slam at the Australian Open in January 2005, Mirza made sure that she was not a flash in the pan. Having become the first Indian woman to win a WTA title, Mirza embodies the American ethos of tremendous fighting spirit and not cracking up under pressure.
Having made headlines for her game and her power drive, Mirza also epitomizes an ordinary girl’s quest for success. Having jumped from No 326 to No 42 in world tennis rankings in a year's time, Mirza’s aggressive streak saw her putting up a spirited fight against tennis champ Serena Williams at the Australian Open.

Cricket Woes
I can’t get over the exhilaration I felt, when England defeated the Aussies in the last Ashes test match, to now lead 2-1 in the series.
At the bar we were in, we all celebrated by ordering glasses of champagne when this happened I know the excitement was just pent-up energy — an energy waiting to be expressed and released when our own cricket team someday puts on a halfway decent show, but that never happens! What’s happened to the men in blue? Will they continue to go as Harsha Bhogle commented when India lost to New Zealand last week, that “they played like rich boys spending their father’s money”?
Why don’t they feel the need to play for their country anymore — not necessarily win but at least fight for their country, for the people who have gifted them the iconic status they enjoy today? Why do they only play for their sponsors? Hit a century, sign on some endorsements and then perform again only just before the contract runs out... Why have Indian cricketers lost all team spirit, lost all josh, all pride? Why are they satisfied with such mediocrity? When will we see a revival of some dignity in the team...
Seriously, it’s extremely upsetting... humaara number kab ayegaa...?
